Spring 2022 Coach Meeting

Thank you to all of the coaches who attended one of our pre-season coach meetings.  It was great to see all of our returning coaches and meet some of our new coaches.  We appreciate everything you do and are excited to kick off our Spring 2022 season on April 16th.

For those coaches who were unable to attend, all of the information we covered is below.  If you still need to pick up your coach bag with uniforms and coach equipment (for new coaches), please check the hours on our website and stop by our office at Plante's Ferry.

Fields

  • If you did not include specific days, times and locations in your registration a request was not submitted for you. Plante’s Ferry Friday fields are available now.
  • Ways to help us limit the wear and tear on our fields. This allows us to keep them open for training:
    • On game day, please warm up off the actual field.
    • Please don’t do dynamic stretching on the field.
    • Use the entire field: While running your training session, please move your grids throughout the training in order to limit the use of a certain area.
    • Goal mouth: Please try and refrain from training inside the 6 yd box.
    • Goal nets: Please keep players off the nets, no climbing or hanging

Sportsmanship Program

  • Spokane Rapids provides every team with enough wristbands for the season (extras are always available - we would rather you come get more than not acknowledge a deserving player).
  • Wristbands to be awarded to the player on your team that best exemplifies the following**:
    • Abides by rules of game
    • Plays fair and hard
    • Follows directions of coach
    • Shows respect for the other team and officials
    • Is a leader and offers encouragement
    • Shows class in victory and defeat Important that all teams participate in this program!!!
**Please keep track of who received the most wristbands, at the end of the season and submit your list to office@spokanerapids.org - those players (and those from the spring season) will be entered into a drawing for special prizes to be given out at the end of the Spring season.
