Once your child is placed with a team over the summer, your coach will reach out regarding the practice schedule after registration has closed and teams are finalized during the week of August 17th. Please note that youth soccer is undergoing a nationwide age group adjustment that may affect team placement.
Coach request - this is the first request we will honor as long as there is space available with returning players
- Friend/teammate requests - if age allows, we will place those who request to play together on the same team
- School/neighborhood - We will use the requested practice region and school attending to assign the player to a nearby team if possible.
Please note that we do not guarantee requests - we will do our best to accommodate, but placement requests may not be possible due to team availability.
PRACTICES AND GAMES
Practice schedules are determined by your coach and can begin as early as August 17th. 7 games will be scheduled per team between September 12 and October 24 on Saturdays at Plante’s Ferry. Spring season dates are to be determined; your team may also choose to register for the Lilac Cup at the end of the spring season.
AGE GROUPS
Beginning with the 2026–2027 season, U.S. Soccer and its affiliated leagues, including Spokane Rapids, will implement a nationwide adjustment to how youth players are grouped:
Player age groups will transition from the current "Calendar Year" model (January 1 – December 31) to a "School Year" model (August 1 – July 31).
While this change is intended to improve the long-term player and family experience, it may also cause adjustments and disruptions to some existing teams and roster structures during the transition period.
